Anmol Mohara is a Drummer, Tabla Player and Composer born & raised in Nepal and currently based in London. He has received national awards such as “U.K Young Drummer Of the Year” and the winner of “Yamaha Future Beat”. Anmol’s musical journey began at the Nepal Music Center in 2009, honing his skills in drums, tabla, and traditional Nepali folk percussion instruments.
Anmol was offered a full scholarship to study a junior jazz course at the Royal Academy Of Music in 2016 where he studied for two years. Anmol graduated from the Guildhall School Of Music and Drama in 2023 where he studied jazz drums for four years. In 2024, he was invited back at Guildhall as one of the fellows on their prestigious Junior Fellowship Programme.
Anmol has played with a variety of artists/bands. To name a few: Nicolas Meier, Gareth Lockrane, Antoine Fafard, Phil Meadows, Time Zone, Nepalese Folk Symphony Orchestra, Ben Waters. He has performed at various well established venues such as: Eventim Apollo, Ronnie Scott’s, The Cockpit, Pizza Express Jazz Club, The Cadogan Hall, Omeara, 91 living room, Jazz Cafe Posk and many more.
Anmol’s music blends elements of traditional Nepali music, jazz and other groove based genres. Influenced by luminaries such as Trilok Gurtu, Oumou Sangare, Nitin Sawhney, Karim Ziad, Sergio Mandes, Nana Vasconcelos, Shakti, Joao Bosco, and others. Anmol had a mentoring session with one of his influences Nitin Sawhney where he described Anmol’s music as “Cinematic music”.
